The Leadership Symposium is a two-day program where you will learn leadership skills that prepare you to become a leader in the field of marriage and family therapy. The symposium is designed to propel you from interest to action and prepare you to make impactful change on the profession.
The Certificate of Leadership program is an 18-month intensive training and education program that provides a multitude of ways for a participant to do self-investigation and discovery about their leadership style and development. The program provides a flexible format for the application of this discovery and charting of the leadership path moving forward. The following are some answers to frequently asked questions about the symposium:
What is the fee for registering for the Leadership Symposium 2021?
Full Leadership Symposium - $65 for members and $130 for non-members.
Certificate of Leadership Track - For Members ONLY - $550
Deadline for registration: March 5 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time.
Can I earn CEs? Will it be recorded?
Participants of the Leadership Symposium can earn up to 8.5 CEs and those participating in the Certificate of Leadership can obtain up to 25 hours of continuing education. This is comprised of live events at the Leadership Symposium, online, and the Certificate of Leadership Day. Sessions will not be recorded. Only those who have registered and attend the event can earn continuing education credits.
How do I register for the Leadership Symposium?
• Go to the Symposium webpage
• Click the “REGISTER NOW” button
• You will be redirected to our Store’s homepage
• Make sure you are logged on with your username and password and continue the registration. Once signed in, please click on the ‘Store’ link at the top right of the webpage
• Click “View Cart,” and then either "Continue shopping” or “Pay Now”
• Once you have completed your registration, you will receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive the confirmation email, please check your spam folder or contact Member Services at central@aamft.org or call 703-838-9808 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Eastern Time, Monday-Friday.
How do I select “Event Choices” or “Event Sessions?”
The Leadership Symposium will be hosted through Juno online platform. Juno will send you an email for your login information on Monday, March 8. From there, you will be able to create your personalized event schedule, update your personal profile and keep up-to-date on all of the event information! During the Leadership Symposium, you will be able to click on the links of whichever workshops you choose in order to participate. Remember to collect the Session code in order to confirm your attendance and collect your continuing education (CE) hours.
Where can I find information about the sessions and schedule?
Go to the conference webpage. At the middle top of the page, you will see a dark blue bar with tabs listed for “Schedule,” “Registration,” “Sessions” (which includes information regarding CEs) and ‘Certificate of Leadership.”
How will I collect CEs following the Leadership Symposium?
Once the workshop is underway, the Session Codes will be listed under the description of each session on the Juno platform. Following the workshop, you can Check In and enter that Session Code into the event on our Certification Manager site by following the instructions below.
1. Go here
2. Log in using your AAMFT login credentials.
3. Select the event – Leadership Symposium 2021.
4. Check in and enter Session code and click save following the workshop.
5. When you click Save, the grayed out “Incomplete” under the Evaluate field will turn red and allow you to access the session evaluation.
6. Complete and submit your evaluation.
7. Complete the event poll.
8. You will then have access to download or email a PDF of your CE letter.
